CHKD commissioned Rancorn Wildman Architects to design a new medical office building and ambulatory surgery center in Newport News, Virginia. The 42,352 square foot office building and surgery center contains two large surgical theaters and support facilities for such services as diagnostic and primary care, audiology, speech therapy, occupational and physical therapy, hydrotherapy, and outpatient clinics.

The designers used light, color, architectural shapes, and even landscape features to create a cheerful, welcoming environment for young patients ranging in age from infants to teenagers.
