In renovating this 1905 C&O train station, the owner chose to retain most of the original features, restoring them where necessary. The roofs over the side wings were recovered with slate shingles to match the roof of the main building. The brick walls, which had been painted, were thoroughly cleaned and repointed with new mortar. New copper gutters and downspouts replace the old ones. The Ionic capitals were in poor shape, so a mold was made from the best column and four new ones were cast in polymer resin. All the woodwork of the portico was stripped of paint then repainted smooth beige. The result is a fresh new exterior which replicates the original architecture.
