Rancorn Wildman Architects was commissioned by Sussex County Public Schools to design a new high school for 600 students as the first phase of a long-range building plan to locate all public schools on a central educational campus. A traditional design was chosen for the building, as county residents wanted their new school to reflect architecturally the historical significance of the community and the colonial era buildings of the nearby courthouse complex.
